Aftermath of hurricane Ian has caused dangers to residents in Florida.

At least 125 people died from Hurricane Ian last week, one of the strongest hurricanes to ever hit Florida. While this devastation shook communities all along the coast it appears that the fight isn’t over. The tension has been growing with many residents becoming increasingly frustrated by receiving little help from state and federal officials.

Some residents have reported long waiting lines and extended times on hold while waiting for damage recovery. Residents of Sanibel county were warned before returning home to expect intense damage to their homes.

With 95% of houses in Sanibel facing destruction, the plan for recovery is expected to be thorough and lengthy. More than 1,000 search personnel have begun recovery to the coast, but it still remains unclear how many bodies are missing. As of now, over 200,000 people have no electricity and there is no saying when electricity will return.

Officials announce that although the hurricane has passed the dangers still remain. Some dangers from the debris may include fallen power lines, broken poles, and polluted water, just to name a few.
