The Fine Line Music Cafe is an intimate venue where you can really get close and personal with the performers.

Venue: Fine Line in Minneapolis

Fine Line is easily one of the most well-used venues for smaller indie artists. It is a venue owned by the First Avenue and 7th Street Entry venues. It is located in the middle of Minneapolis’s warehouse district, and it is a mere few blocks away from First Avenue. Furthermore, it is considered to be an epicenter of music culture in the twin cities, and I would have to say that I agree. Not only that, but it does not provide free parking, but there are a plethora of parking ramps and ParkMobile spots nearby to use for minimal price.

The variety of genres I have seen at Fine Line shows an astounding diversity in the music scene in Minneapolis. The inside is a cozy bar with an open, general admission floor and an upper balcony for 21+ individuals. The bar on the side serves alcohol with a proof of ID, and it is always packed with enough security personnel to be safe, but not enough to be suffocating.

Security is average. You have to show proof of vaccination and an ID at the shows there, and then you need to go through a metal detector right when you get inside the building. There is also security next to each of the emergency exits on the general admission floor.

Every show I have been to at Fine Line hosted roughly 650, which is Fine Line’s max capacity. It is relatively small in capacity, but the general admission floor is spacious and allows for enough movement to be able to get pretty up close and personal with the artists performing. There is a coat check at Fine Line, which is always a plus. The merch table is usually right next to the door on your immediate right upon entering the building, but it doesn’t ever get in the way of the performance experience.

Overall, this classic indie venue never disappoints with the experiences it brings to its audience members, and I couldn’t recommend it enough for anybody of any level of concert experience.
