Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have collectively decided to split as a result of prolonged issues apparent in their marriage. Kim filed for the divorce at the Los Angeles Superior Court on Friday, February 19th, and soon after, the announcement was released and reported by many social media platforms and news sources.
E! News reported last month that while thoughts of getting a divorce were transpiring, both Kim and Kanye were attending marriage counseling.
An insider, close to Kim Kardashian stated, “Kim was just tired of waiting. She tried to give it a chance. She wanted to do this last year. She gave it plenty of time but it’s just time to move on.”
The divorce is not a result of any secretive actions made by either party. The insider adds,
The spouses have agreed on co-parenting their four children, North, 7, Saint, 5, Chicago, 3, and Psalm, who turns two in four months. In recent weeks, the kids have been living with Kim in Calabasas, while Kanye has been living in Wyoming.
An additional source who is also close to Kim, exclusively tells E! News, “Kim expressed to [the kids] that she loves their Dad but they need to be apart. They don’t fully understand what’s going on and are already used to the situation.”
Confident in her decision, Kim knows that this separation is what’s best for her and the kids.
A second insider affiliated with Kardashian-West comments, “She’s already felt like she’s been divorced for months now,” the source claims. “It’s been a long time coming and she feels relieved to be able to finally move on.”
