Skincare products can be expensive but well worth the cost.

The best way to have smooth glowing skin is by developing a routine of products that works best for your skin. For the sake of this article I tried out new products to see if they will help my skin. I have acne, and have struggled with it throughout my teenage years. Will these products work on my skin? I decided to use these products everyday, and night for three days, and then see what they have done for my skin. At the start of this experiment, my skin looked like this.

The first product put to the test is the La Roche-Posay hydrating gentle cleanser. I washed my face with this cleanser each morning and night. This face wash was light and almost oily when I put it on my skin. If you’re looking for a face wash to take off thick makeup and sweat from the day, this is not the face wash for you. However, if you’re looking for a second step to a double cleanse or a morning face wash this is a good pick. This cleanser doesn’t have a harsh smell and didn’t irritate my skin. Overall I’d rate this cleanser a 7/10, and I’d recommend it.

The next product I used was the COSRX AHA/BHA Clarifying Treatment toner. I applied this toner right after I finished washing my face. This product is extremely convenient to use because it sprays so you don’t have to put the product on a cotton pad to apply it unlike most toners. This makes it quick and easy to apply. If I am being honest, I thought that this product would irritate my skin, so I was a bit hesitant to try it; however, it did the opposite of that. After spraying this toner on my face and patting it into my skin, it felt hydrating and comfortable on my skin. This product didn’t have a harsh smell or feel to it. I would recommend this product to anyone, and I’d give it a rating of 9/10.

The next product I tried was something I wouldn’t normally go for, maybe that’s why I decided to try it. That product was the COSRX Advanced Snail All-in-One Cream. This cream was advertised to have 92% snail mucus to leave your skin hydrated and glowing. Yes, I put snail mucus on my face. It was a simple slimy cream, and it didn’t smell or have a weird color. This product was a little thick but was easily applied to the face. Once the cream dried it left a smooth, and glowing look to my skin and it honestly made my skin feel amazing. If you aren’t scared of snails, I would recommend this product, and I would rate it a 9//10.

The last product I used, I used every morning before I put on my makeup. This product is the Pipette SPF 50 Mineral Sunscreen. On the back of the bottle, the sunscreen advertises a lightweight formula with no white cast. In my opinion, the advertisement is only half true. For me I thought the SPF was not lightweight, but it wasn’t unbearable to wear.  It didn’t leave a white cast. This product was extremely greasy to the skin after putting it on, so that wasn’t my favorite part. Overall I would rate this SPF a 6/10 because it wasn’t horrible, just not what I was looking for. If you’re into anti-aging or protecting your skin from the sun, I would recommend this product.

After three days of this skin care my skin wasn’t left perfect. I don’t blame it on the products because many things influence acne and the way your skin looks, like your diet. My diet was horrible during these few days, and I didn’t drink enough water, influencing my skin. I also think if I continue this routine my skin will get better because my skin was still adjusting to the products over these days.
