Thomma killed 26 civilians, but two of the wounded later died in the hospital during surgery. One officer was killed, and three others were injured after the initial shooting. Over 58 others were injured in the attack, 30 of which are still hospitalized.

Thomma’s mother, whose name was withheld, explained that Thomma had depression and an extremely bad temper. Even so, his motives were unclear, authorities state.
