The Sartell St. Stephen boys’ varsity hockey team is underway in playoff hockey. The Sabres beat Prairie Centre in their first round of playoffs on Tuesday, February 19th. The team will now advance and compete against Alexandria at the MAC this upcoming Saturday, the 23rd.

In an interview earlier this week, senior, Nate Stoebe, shared his thoughts about the intensity of their practices going into playoffs:  “Not a whole lot has changed because our coach likes to see high tempo practices and likes us to play with speed.  As far as playoffs go, it’s a lot more technical work and drills that get our heart rate going.”

Senior, Maddux Hagy, explains what the team’s main focus is in order to have successful outcomes. He replied with, “Be consistent and make sure we have 100% effort from everybody.”
