Brooke Walters, a senior hockey player from Sartell High School, finally ended her recruiting process on November 29th when she committed to a college. I had the chance to sit down and talk with Brooke and ask her a couple questions about her commitment and her hockey experience through out the years.

Q1. What college did you commit to?

University of Wisconsin – River Falls.

Q2. Why did you choose this school?

I choose this school because I can play hockey here, and I really like the coaches. Also, I think it’s a very fitting school for me. My dad also went there, so it’s really close to my family.

Q3. What are you most excited for?

Being somewhere different and experiencing new things.

Q4. What other schools offered you/ did you talk too?

I talked to Bemidji, Vermont, St. Ann’s, and there were a couple other ones but those are the ones that I talked to more in-depth with before I committed to River Falls.

Q5. What is your favorite part of the school?

I like how small it is, and I also like how close it is to home.

Q6. What was the recruiting process like?

Tedious, and kind of annoying, but I am just glad it’s over now.

Q7. What are you going to miss the most about high school hockey?

Just getting to see my friends every day.

Q8. What is your favorite hockey memory?

Going to State freshman year.

Brooke’s favorite quote is posted below.

You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.”
