Friends is by far the best basic everyday life show ever to air on television. Now that Thanksgiving is over, I thought I would rank the Friends Thanksgiving episodes. There are nine Thanksgiving episodes that have aired, and I will rank my favorite to my least favorite.

I ranked the Friends Thanksgiving episode: The One with the Football (Season 3, Episode 9) 9th.

I ranked this one the worst, as all Friends episodes are great, I had to rank this episode the worst of the Thanksgiving episodes. The Friends characters only played football the entire episode. Yes, there were funny moments such as Phoebe distracting Chandler and Joey, how everyone doesn’t want to play with Rachel, and Ross and Monica hogging the ball for hours on end, but I wished there was more of the different scenarios going on like other Thanksgiving episodes had shown. The different scenarios give off different emotions that I felt other than Thanksgiving vibes.

This clip is one of my favorite parts of this episode.

I ranked this Friends Thanksgiving episode: The One Where Underdog Gets Away (Season 1, Episode 9) 8th.

This episode was Monica’s first Thanksgiving she had ever hosted. She is stressed that she has to make Thanksgiving perfect. As the parade goes on in Manhattan, Underdog gets loose and Chandler says to get a better view, which they go to the roof and watch. This ended up bad because they get locked in and after going through all the keys they finally get into the apartment and everything is burnt. Rachel doesn’t make her flight to go “shoop, shoop shoop,” and Monica gets upset because she had to make three different types of potatoes for everyone on her first time cooking a Thanksgiving meal. They all end up eating Chandler’s Thanksgiving meal of grilled cheese, a family sized bag of Funyuns, and tomato soup. I wish I saw more different scenarios than just Underdog getting away and everything ending up being burnt.

I ranked the Friends Thanksgiving episode: The One with the Late Thanksgiving (Season 10, Episode 8) 7th.

This episode starts off with the gang at their usual coffee house hang out with usual everyday conversation. Then it goes to Rachel in her apartment and Phoebe asking what Rachel’s baby daughter Emma is doing. Rachel responds with, “Well I know she has a meeting with her lawyer and then she has to make a very big poop.” Which Rachel was using sarcasm and brought a little humor into the episode. Phoebe suggested to her that Emma should be in a baby beauty pageant and Rachel is all for it. They did not have an outfit for Emma last minute, so they took the outfit off of Joey’s Cabbage Patch Kid, which was super funny. They both agree that they need to be back before 4 o’clock to have Thanksgiving dinner at Monica and Chandler’s.

At the same time, Joey and Ross come to Monica and Chandler about the Ranger game. Monica says no, but Chandler was somewhat interested. He noticed that the game started at 1 and they needed to be back by 4. He tells Joey and Ross that they can’t go. Joey and Ross leave and both agree they are going to the game. This was funny because now Joey and Ross could possibly be late to Thanksgiving dinner, and so will Phoebe and Rachel.

Time passes by, and Joey, Ross, Phoebe, and Rachel all come around 5. They all argue that they are an hour late and Monica will be mad. I wish that they would have come back in time because they did not, and Monica and Chandler won’t let them into their apartment. They all say they are sorry, which at this point takes 10 minutes for the episode which I wish I saw more instead of the gang trying to get Monica and Chandler to open their door. A part that brought some humor within the struggle to let the gang into Monica and Chandler’s apartment was when the gang all stuck their heads into the door. Joey ends up getting his head stuck and Monica uses the turkey baster to free his head. This part brought the struggle mood up a little bit, and then disaster happens. Joey runs into the Thanksgiving food and gets all over the place, but Monica doesn’t care because she finds out that her and Chandler are getting a baby from the adoption agency. This episode had some humor and at the end with the adoption agency call that brought the thankful feel, but I wish I had seen more than just half of the episode of the gang trying to say sorry to Monica and Chandler.

I ranked the Friends Thanksgiving episode: The One With Chandler In A Box (Season 4, Episode 8) 6th

This episode starts off with Chandler trying to get ahold of Joey because Chandler told Joey that he kissed his girlfriend, and Joey would never forgive him. As Monica and Phoebe are preparing dinner, Rachel goes, “Ahh I’m gonna take a nap, turkey makes me sleepy.” And Monica goes, “We haven’t eaten yet.” And Rachel responds with, “I know, but all the work your doing to get it ready ugh.” This was funny to me.

Another spin that this episode had that brought it to be decent was the Secret Santa and the initials RG, make up for some little laughter throughout the episode. This episode is decent as Chandler and Joey were fighting over Kathy, but Monica needing to go to the eye doctor and saying she couldn’t go see Richard when she didn’t have a boyfriend was pretty funny. Towards the end of the episode, Joey tells Chandler that he needs to stay in a box to gain Joey’s trust for Chandler again, and Kathy breaks things off with both of them. After Joey realizes Kathy is better off with Chandler, he lets Chandler catch up to Kathy and everyone ends up happy. This episode could have added some more depth and comedy into the episode to make it more exciting. There were some comical aspects and some different emotions, but would of loved to see more comical aspects.

I ranked the Friends Thanksgiving episode: The One With All The Thanksgivings (Season 5, Episode 8) 5th.

This episode shows all the different types of Thanksgiving every Friends character has had. It showed how Chandler’s Thanksgiving was ruined when he was a little boy and his parents told Chandler that they were getting a divorce and the houseboy saying “More turkey, Mr. Chandler”? T

his episode also throws in Phoebe’s fake Thanksgiving from her past life and gives off some laughs. This episode is also where Rachel tells the gang Monica’s worst Thanksgiving ever. A third of the way through this episode, the gang goes back to when Joey got a turkey stuck on his head and scares Chandler, which was pretty funny. Monica tells her worst Thanksgiving story where Chandler called her fat in college; Chandler had no idea and he feels bad about it. The next Thanksgiving after that where Rachel thought was Monica’s worst, Monica becomes thin because of Chandler’s comment and tries to think she likes him. When she tries to make him like her, she accidently drops a knife in Chandler’s toe and brings a cold carrot to the hospital instead. The funny part of this episode is where Ross and Monica’s mother says, “Oh my God, there’s a toe in my kitchen.” Then Monica says she can go back and get it and asks for her father’s keys to his Porsche, and he says he is not falling for that one again, brought some humor. Monica feels really bad for Chandler as they are dating in this episode that no one knows about it yet. She tries to cheer Chandler by putting a turkey on her head and dancing around. Joey then walks in and gets scared by the turkey head, which was funny as Chandler was scared earlier in the episode form a different Thanksgiving.

This one definitely was funny, but I had to rank this one to be okay because there are other Thanksgiving episodes that are better than this one.

I ranked the Friends Thanksgiving episode: The One With The Holiday Armadillo (Season 7, Episode 10) 3rd.

At the beginning, Ross says he is not going to dress up as Santa this year because he wants his son Ben to learn more about Hanukkah. Rachel makes a sarcastic yet funny comment that Ben needs to learn more about Phoebe after Phoebe says she wants to teach Ben about the Christmas skull and how people die. One point where I ranked this episode good is when Chandler tries to take one of Richard’s moves, slipping money to get a table faster at a fancy restaurant, he unfortunately had the money in the wrong hand. Then later in the episode tries to do the same trick to Ben, which was full of laughs to watch.

Another spin that made this episode good was when Phoebe tries to find different ways to get rid of Rachel out of Joey’s apartment so she can move back in with her, it does not go very well as Phoebe cannot find any way for her to leave his apartment and turns out to be kind of funny. As a happy result of this episode, Ross continues to teach Ben about Hanukkah. He never really listened until Chandler dresses as Santa and tells Ben about his friend the armadillo (Ross dressed as an armadillo). Ben then is interested in Hanukkah and Ross is relieved. After Phoebe and Rachel go back to their newly built apartment after a fire, their two-bedroom apartment became a one-bedroom apartment and Rachel gets a feeling that Phoebe wants the apartment. They both are happy as Phoebe will live on her own, and Rachel loves living with Joey. This episode was funny, yet satisfying because everyone got generally what they wanted.

I rank the Friends Thanksgiving episode: The One With The Rumor (Season 8, Episode 10) 2nd.

This episode is where Rachel is pregnant, and Phoebe gives her some of her old maternity clothes and says the pair of pants expands during the pregnancy and after it is great for shoplifting melons. This part was funny as Phoebe gives Rachel her old maternity clothes. Rachel is in the stage of her pregnancy and gets sick of the Thanksgiving smells. Monica tells Rachel her friend, Will, from marching band in high school who was also overweight, is coming into town and she invites him the Thanksgiving, but Rachel does not remember him.

Joey also convinces Monica to buy a turkey this year and promises to eat all of it as “Tribiani’s never give up.” In this episode Chandler also pretends he likes to watch the football game, so he doesn’t have to help out Monica with the Thanksgiving food. Phoebe gets in on the action too, which ended up being super funny as they don’t want to help Monica out with the cooking.

Will comes in and is now thin like Monica and sees Rachel and tells Monica that he hated her in high school because she was mean to him, he then gets nervous and wants cake or cookies, which was funny because he just became super thin and gets nervous and wants to eat, but he tells himself no and that he can’t go back to his old self. Chandler and Phoebe continue scream at the TV as they are pretending to watch and enjoy it. Will tells everyone that he hated Rachel in high school because she was a preppy mean girl and that he and Ross founded a “I hate Rachel Greene Club.” This was funny because Ross never really hated Rachel, he has always loved Rachel.

Another hilarious part of this episode is when Will and Ross made the club, they spread a rumor about Rachel that she has both male and female reproductive parts. Rachel gets mad at Ross because Ross and Rachel are having a baby together, and Ross says he did it so she wouldn’t know that he liked her back in high school. This episode had plenty of laughs and different scenes that had a variety of comedies and different emotions.

I ranked the Friends Thanksgiving episode: The One Where Ross Got High (Season 6, Episode 9) for 1st.

This one is full of laughs and is by far my favorite Friends Thanksgiving episode ever. This episode starts off with Monica telling Chandler that she hasn’t told her parents about Chandler moving in with her because her parents do not like Chandler. She brings stuff that Chandler does that Monica doesn’t like and was pretty funny. Chandler then goes to Joey’s apartment where Ross and Joey are playing video games, and Joey tells Chandler to shut up. Chandler then says “Maybe I give thanks to taking my Play Station over to my new apartment.” Joey then says, “Well maybe I love ya,” which brought some humor.

Joey and Ross hear Janine’s dancer friends come into town, and Joey and Ross are very interested. When Ross and Monica’s parents come, Chandler tries to impress and greet them when Chandler asks Monica’s father, Jack, if it was snowing outside and he said no. It was funny because Chandler thought it was snow, but it was really dandruff.

In this Thanksgiving episode, Monica is not making a dessert this year because she trusts Rachel to make a delicious dessert. Rachel messes up and puts sautéed peas and onions and beef in a trifle. The gang eats it anyway to make her feel good about herself for making a dessert. Randomly, Phoebe had a dream about Jack the night before and thinks everything he does is irresistible. It brought lots of humor as Jack did normal dad things, and Phoebe thought it was attractive. The real feud comes when Chandler says that Judy’s sweater is really nice and says it is “tight” and Judy takes it the wrong way and then whispers to Jack saying that he’s probably stoned again. Chandler gets confused and Ross tells him that he didn’t want to get caught in college with pot so he blamed Chandler.

At this point Joey wants to leave because of Janine and her dancer friends are having a party and he also tells Ross that they need to tell Rachel that she messed up the trifle. Ross tells Joey to tell everyone to pretend to enjoy it while Ross distracts Rachel in the hall. As the gang eats the dessert, they all find ways to eat it other than in the kitchen, surprisingly Joey loves the dessert, which this was supper funny seeing where everyone went to go eat (dispose) of their dessert. Afterwards, Monica tells Ross that he needs to tell his parents the truth about how he smoked pot in high school and not Chandler. Ross says he won’t and Monica tells their parents the truth and then Ross confesses. As Monica is still upset, she tells Jack the mailman didn’t steal his special magazines, Ross did. At this point, Monica didn’t need to do that, but it is a funny spin off to the episode. Ross gets mad and tell their parents that, “hurricane Gloria didn’t break the porch swing, Monica did!” Monica then tells their parents that he hasn’t been working at the museum for over a year. Then the break point comes and Ross says that Monica and Chandler are living together. Monica gets super stressed out and mad, which was funny and she tells their parents that he married Rachel in Vegas and got divorced again. Randomly, Phoebe yells, “I love Jacques Cousteau!” Then Rachel says, “I wasn’t suppose to put beef in the trifle!” Then Joey yells, “I wanna go!”

This is the funniest point of the episode yet which is what brought this Thanksgiving episode to be my favorite Friends Thanksgiving episode. Judy then says, “That’s a lot of information to get in 30 seconds” and get disappointed in Ross for smoking pot and at Monica for not telling her that her and Chandler live together. Chandler tells Jack and Judy that he will talk to them as Jack and Judy believes him while he’s just kidding. This is my favorite Friends Thanksgiving episode because it has so much humor going on and it overall super funny and so many scenarios going on that you don’t know what to focus on and just laugh.

This clip is one of favorite parts of this episode.
