In order to help control climate change, people need to limit pollution, which will help better the condition of the polar bear’s endangered habitats.

Helping polar bears starts with the willingness to want to make the planet a better place; not only for polar bears but for mankind as well. Walking or biking to places nearby, instead of taking a vehicle, can help cut down on pollution. This should be done right now and right away, to better society. Even if helping a polar bear is not a main priority, wanting to keep the earth clean for generations to come, should be a top priority. Another way to help these animals is to donate money that will go to helping polar bears take back their habitat. Click the link to see options on how to donate money towards the polar bears.

The polar bear is to many people, the cute animal they see at the zoo and want to take home. Although the polar bears that live in the zoo appear happy and content, this is not the case for all polar bears. Polar bears that live in the wild of the Arctic, Alaska, Greenland, Norway, and Russia are becoming more and more scarce. Not only are they in danger of climate change wiping them out, they are further jeopardized by the threat of starvation.

A polar bear’s favorite meal is the wild seal. Although a seal gives them the calories they need to survive, they are also becoming increasingly difficult to find. This is because wild seals are also endangered. The seal is endangered because of out of season seal-hunting and over-hunting in season.

During any given day a polar bear has to walk further than the day before to find food. The more miles they have to roam, the hungrier they become because they are losing energy and not gaining calories. At the end of the day, they may have to settle for a less nutritious meal like fish, which does not compare to the nutrients a seal gives them.

Finding a solution to climate change can also protect the lives of polar bears. Climate change affects the sea, their dens, and their lives. The air around them warms faster each year and causes the ice to melt faster, causing dens to cave in, which can leave polar bears trapped, starving, and suffocating.

Climate change is the change in global climate patterns. Greenhouse gases and pollution are a major cause of climate change. Greenhouse gases act as a blanket that goes over the earth to retain heat. Over the past 200 years, society has been burning more and more fossil fuels. The more fossils fuels burned, the hotter the earth is, like adding more and more blankets. Scientists believe this problem is going to continue for decades to come unless humans start burning less fossil fuels.

 

 

 

Many will read this and think they cannot help, but they actually can. Just by riding a bike to school or work can help lessen gases given off. Finding more “green” ways to better our planet, as a whole will demolish climate change.

Not only can people help by not driving their cars everywhere, but they can also make a difference by making donations to the polar bears. These donations are monthly and the amount donated is chosen by the donator. Donations can stop at any time. Help the bears, and help the earth to be a better place for all of society.
