Minnesota is known for tater-tot hot dish, 10,000 lakes and being nice. But what happens when a native is heartbroken on national television?

Representative Drew Christensen proposed a bill to ban the bachelor, Arie Luyendyk Jr, from The Land of 10,000 Lakes. This comes after “The Bachelor’s” surprise season finale.

Arie choose Minnesota native, Becca Kufrin, as his fiancée, but at the last minute choose runner-up Lauren Burnham.

This infuriated fans of the show, but also Minnesota as a whole. Representative Christensen tweeted after the show saying, “If this gets a thousand retweets I’ll author a bill banning Arie from Minnesota.”

The tweet quickly got more than 1,000 and is up to 13,000.

The proposed bill states this: “The state of Minnesota hereby adopts a policy of zero tolerance of Arie Luyendyk Jr. from season 22 of The Bachelor. It is state policy that every person in the state has a right to live free from the presence of Arie Luyendyk Jr. in the state.”

“This entire situation has been done tongue-in-cheek and about supporting the hometown girl. We Minnesotans stick together.” ”

— Drew Christensen

This bill obviously will not turn into a law, as Representative Christensen said he would not even vote yes on the bill. The reason for the idea of this bill to even come to fruition is what he said, “We Minnesotans stick together.”
