It’s that time of the year again and NFL teams are getting ready for the 2018 Super Bowl as the last round of playoffs start. Teams left in the running to head to US Bank Stadium include the Minnesota Vikings, Philadelphia Eagles, New England Patriots, and the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Minnesota Vikings will be held to high standards after last week’s “Minneapolis Miracle.”

During the first round of the playoffs, the Vikings held the lead against the New Orleans Saints until 25 seconds left in the fourth quarter when the Saints kicked a field goal. This was devastating to the Vikings and their fans as they were now down by one point and only 14 seconds left in the game. After watching the “Minneapolis Miracle” you now know the Vikings had an amazing comeback and will be playing the Philadelphia Eagles January 21st for a chance to play in the super bowl on home turf.

The Philadelphia Eagles played the Arizona Falcons before they advanced to the NFC Championship round against the Minnesota Vikings. Although the Falcons were favored to win on the road, there was a reason the Eagles were the No. 1 seed. On Sunday, January 21st the Eagles will have a chance to advance to the super bowl at US Bank Stadium.

It is now Sunday, January 21st and the Vikings are in Philadelphia playing for the chance to compete in the 2018 super bowl at their home stadium Sunday, February 4th. No doubt the Eagles are not going down without a fight especially since they have home field advantage. After the first half, the Philadelphia Eagles had a score of 17 and the Minnesota Vikings had a score of seven as they headed into the second half of the game. If the Minnesota Vikings wanted any chance of coming back they need to step up their game and work as a team to make that happen. Unfortunately, the Minnesota Vikings were unable to score any points in the second half, which was a result to an end in their season. Hopefully, the Eagles pack their winter clothes as they head to US Bank Stadium for the Super Bowl.

Also on this day Sunda, January 21st the New England Patriots are getting ready to play the Jacksonville Jaguars to find out which one of them will be joining the Philadelphia Eagles in Minneapolis. During the first quarter of the game, the New England Patriots kicked a field goal at the 31-yard line and ended the quarter leading three to zero. Going into the second quarter the Jacksonville Jaguars knew they weren’t far behind and could easily get ahead, and they did just that. The Jaguars came back strong scoring two touchdowns in the second quarter and now leading the game 14-7. During the third quarter, the Jaguars were able to score three more points when kicker Jason Myers nailed a 55-yard field goal. On to the fourth and final quarter will the Jaguars in the lead 17 to 10, in order for the Eagles to be back in the game they need to score at least one touchdown to tie up the game. The New England Patriots really made this one interesting game, they were able to come back and score two touchdowns, putting them ahead of the Jacksonville Jaguars. Let’s hope the Patriots pack their “A” game as they head to Minneapolis, Minnesota to take on the Philadelphia Eagles in super bowl Lll.

It is Super Bowl Sunday 2018 and the current temperature is negative five degrees with a wind chill of negative twenty-five degrees. Luckily the teams will not have to worry about these frigid temperatures at US Bank Stadium, but I cannot say the same for their fans as they wait outside to enter the stadium. After the first quarter both teams have points on the board, Eagles with a field goal and a touchdown, but missing the extra point. After the Eagles scored their first three points the Patriots responded with a 26-yard field goal to put them on the board. The first half is now over and the eagles still manage to lead against the patriots 22 to 12. Highlights from the third quarter include the patriots with two touchdowns and another touchdown from the Philadelphia Eagles, despite New England’s efforts they are still down by three points as they head into the fourth quarter. The last play of the game is here the Eagles are winning 41 to 33 and the Patriots have the ball. The only way for them to keep this game going is to get a touchdown and then run a two-point conversion. Tom Brady has the ball as he looks down field for someone to pass to he spots one of his players in the end zone and launches the ball downfield. The ball made it to the end zone, but was unable to be a completed pass, due to the strong defense of the Philadelphia Eagles. Sadly for the Patriots this means they did not win the super bowl, but due to the Eagles defense the time had run out and they are Super Bowl champions!
