Sabre boys cross country wins CLC for second consecutive season

The Sartell Boys Cross Country team continued their CLC dominance on October 17th, at Boulder Ridge Golf course, at the 2017 CLC cross country meet. The entire Central Lakes Conference showed up, but only two teams won titles: Sartell winning the varsity boys and JV boys titles, and Wilmar winning the JH boys title.

The Sartell Varsity boys team won their Varsity race with 37 points, beating Wilmar with 49 and Alexandria with 61. The first finisher for the Sabres was Ryan Fernholz, coming in 3rd with a time of 16:27. All around, the Sabres had a strong race, putting all of their runners in the top 17 finishers.

The JV boys team continued their dominance, coming away with another landslide victory. Sartell had 20 points, 5 off of a perfect score of 15. They decimated rivals Wilmar who had 50, and Alexandria who had 79. The first finisher for the Sabres was sophomore Cooper Larson, who finished 1st in a time of 17:37. The JV team finished their season just as they had started: strong.

The JH boys team placed 2nd with a score of 32, being beaten by one of the better JH teams in the state, Wilmar. The first finisher for the Sabre JH boys was 8th grade Logan Clark with a time of 11:25. He came in 1st place. Overall, the Sabres had 2 first place finishers and 1 third.
