Sabres’ battle against tough competition in Alexandria

The Sartell boys’ cross country team fiercely battled against five other ranked teams at the Alexandria Meet of Champions on October 7th, at Arrowwood Resort in Alexandria. Sartell faced Edina, Stillwater, White Bear Lake, Mounds View and Red Wing.

The first finisher for the Sabre boys was Alex Nemeth, who finished with a time of 16:36 for 5,000 meters, finishing in 11th place. The Sartell boys’ varsity team finished in 5th place out of 21 other teams, including beating 10th ranked team Red Wing, but fell to all other ranked teams.

The JV boys’ team finished in 3rd place out of 21 other teams. Sartell JV lost to Edina, who had 39 points, and Stillwater, who had 55 points. The first finisher for the JV boys was 8th grader Mitiku Nies, who finished in 8th place with a time of 17:40 for 5,000 meters.

The JH boys had a tougher race than the rest of the program, finishing in 8th place with 192 points. The first finisher for Sartell was 8th grader Logan Clark, who finished in 9th place with a time of 11:26 for the 3,200 meter run.
