Sabres’ have mega success at mega meet
The 47th annual Milaca Mega Meet took place on Saturday, September 23rd, with fierce competition. The Sabre boy’s varsity team fell to both Stillwater and White Bear Lake, but beat the other ranked team, Mounds View. Last year, the Sabres raced 3A, but Coach Kellerman decided it would be in their best interest to race with the larger city schools in 4A. In total, there were 25 teams racing in 4A.
Alex Nemeth, again, led the charge for the Sabres, with a time of 16:38, placing 8th in the 4A race against numerous city schools. For the JV boys, Zach Harren was the first finisher for the Sabres, with a time of 18:10, placing 10th. The JV boys placed 3rd against 50 other teams from all around Minnesota.
Ingrid Buiceag-Arma finished a close 2nd in the 3A Girls varsity race. Ingrid’s time was 19:16, and she was less than 3 hundredths of a second away from claiming her second consecutive Mega Meet victory. The Sabre girl’s varsity team finished 3rd out of 20 teams.
