The Sartell boys’ soccer team defended their home field on Monday, gaining their fifth win in a thrilling and chilling match against Sauk Rapids.

Even though the weather was cold and misty, the soccer team’s attack was on fire. They won 4-1, with three of the goals coming in the second half. The Boys of Blue defended and attacked well as a team, only giving up one goal to Sauk Rapids.

If we keep on working together and playing well we have a good chance of going to state.”

— Connor Kalthoff

The highlight of the game goes to Connor Kalthoff as he completed his third hat trick of the season by sprinting past three defenders and beating the goalie with a top netting shot. Connor stated he was happy to score the fourth goal of the game because it closed out the possibility of Sauk Rapids coming back. Monday’s three goals put Connor’s goal count up to 12.

The team has struggled recently at home, losing to Apollo and tying to Tech, so it was nice for them to gain some home turf confidence after the win. You can catch their next home game on Saturday against Moorhead at 1:00.
