20 things to do when you are feeling down

If you are ever having one of those days here are 20 things to make your day much better!

1. Sleep

Sleep is literally the cure to a lot of things. When I’m feeling down I just sleep. I promise you sleep is a good thing.

2.  Listen to good tunes

Nothing makes me happier than listening to some of my favorite songs. There is something about music that can cure a soul that is hurting.

3.  Read

Sometimes cuddling in with a good book can help; it can transport you to a different place and forget about what is going on.

4.  Dance

Turn on those good tunes and bust a move. Forget about everything in your mind and just dance like nobody is watching. (As cliché as that sounds!)

5.  Laugh

Sometimes you just need a good laugh. Not just a little giggle, but a laugh where your belly hurts and tears are rolling out of your eyes.

6.  Surround yourself with your people

In times like these all you need are your people, the people who support you and love you for you.

 

7.  Eat lots of ice cream

I mean, in my opinion eat as many Ben and Jerry’s tubs as you want, but eat whatever will give you comfort. Sometimes you jut need to eat your heart out and that’s okay!

8.  Cry

Many people try to stay strong, but one of the best ways to heal is to cry. It may hurt in the time being, but once all the tears have been shed you will begin to feel better.

9.  Relax

On these days you just need to take time to be alone, and that is not wrong of you. It is more than okay to want to be alone, and people will understand.

 

10.  Watch Netflix

I recommend if you can’t get out of bed, just binge watch your favorite show on Netflix, just like a book it will transport you to a new place where your mind is not focused on you and your life.

 

11. Exercise

Going for a run or working out is a great way to get your endorphins going. It will help you snap out of reality for a little bit and focus on the task in front of you.

 

12.  Watch videos of cute babies or animals

For some you may think what the heck? But honestly it makes me so happy inside, and it makes me laugh which is a plus.

 

13.  Go for a drive

This one to me is my go to. I find being able to drive with the windows down, belting tunes, with nowhere to go makes me so happy.

 

15.  Open up

For many people they would rather stay closed off and not express the pain they go through everyday, but opening up to the right people will make you feel 10X better.

 

15.  Get out of bed

For most people they want to stay in bed and not do anything, and I understand some days you need those days, but not every day. There is so much you are missing out on when you stay in bed, and the sunlight and fresh air will make you feel so much better.

 

16.  Explore the world

Once you get out bed there is much to explore; it doesn’t have to be anything big, but going on a little adventure within your town will help brighten your day.

 

17.  Go to a bookstore

Sometimes it is nice to just soak in the silence of a bookstore and to sit in a corner and read a book you may be interested in.

 

18.  Drink coffee or something that will warm your soul

On days where you feel down I recommend going to a local coffee shop and getting your favorite drink and enjoying the atmosphere.

 

19.  Turn off social media

When you are feeling down, disconnect from all social media. You need to think about you and only you. You do not need to worry about other people. You just need to worry about getting better.

 

20.  Remember you are only human

You are doing your best, and you need to be kind to yourself. Everyone makes mistakes; life will keep moving and you just gotta get up.
