Zoe Rogers is a senior at Sartell who has loved to draw since she was little. She always enjoyed filling up drawing pads with doodles, and now that she’s in high school, she’s begun taking her art more seriously.

I asked Zoe about her art and this is what she had to say.

1. Where do you draw your inspiration for your pieces?

I’m so inspired by people who make things, whether it’s art, music, writing, science, you name it—my peers and close friends and all of their creativity are a huge inspiration.”

2. What is your favorite thing to draw/paint and why?

“My favorite subject matter in my art is people. I think that’s because people’s faces and bodies can express so much in such a simple way, and there’s always so much diversity and variety to explore within people.”

3. What is your favorite work of art that you’ve done and why?

“I’m really proud of a linoleum block reduction print that I just finished over the weekend! It’s one of my favorite works because I tried a new technique—reduction printing—and it worked out well. The title is ‘Revelation’.”
